S is for Sarah Kim, who planted the seed that sprouted into my travel plans.
E is for the ease with which I persuaded The Hyphenator to join me.
A is for the adoptees who will be converging on the city as only KADs can converge.
T is for my friend Tara, my KAD twin and hotel roomie coming all the way from the East Coast just to listen to me snore.
T is for the dorky tourist I will be, complete with map, camera and goofy grin. (Say “kimchi!”)
L is for airport layover, which I am dreading already.
E is for eating, something I plan to do as much of and as often as possible.

What does that spell? Seattle! Seattle! Gooooooo, Seattle!
Don’t have too much fun while I’m gone. I hate missing out.

Have a wonderful time at the mini-gathering! I hear it is going to be awesome!
Ji-in, have a great trip! Hi to everyone and be sure to tell us all about it when you get back!
Is this called an ‘acrostic’?
Have a great time at the meeting…sarahkim is the queen of thoughtseed-planting.
Sounds like fun! And Seattle is a beautiful city (in my humble lay-over experienced opinion).
Hope you have fun. Can’t wait to hear about your trip. Sounds like minis have changed some since I went to my one and only six, or maybe it was five, years ago.
Meeting fellow bloggers and KADS, West coast coffee joints, Pike’s Place…good lord I am jealous! Have a safe journey and enjoy Seattle. Take lots of pics for us poor shlupps at home.
((Ji-in)) Have a wonderful time. I had a retreat out there a couple years ago. The retreat itself was awesome.. but I hope you aren’t staying in the same place we did… in the old barracks… lol…
I wish I could be there… it would be an absolute pleasure to meet you, Sarah and Kimberly (amongst many others). Have a great time!!!
There’s not much to do around here, but I hope you have fun nonetheless!
Hope you have a great time. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Thanks, everyone! We’re having a great time here so far in the Emerald City. Meeting lots of other Asian adoptees. Varekai rocked! Yesterday was the perfect day — sunny, 75, gorgeous. Even though it’s cooling off and the clouds have moved in, we’re still having a grand time.
Kimchihead — Whaddya mean, not much to do? The Space Needle seems like loads of fun in and of itself. Heh heh. Not to worry; we adoptees take the party with us wherever we go.
A full report will manifest itself here next week.
Behave! (On second thought, don’t!)
I’m so glad you’re having a great time! Can’t wait to hear about how it went!
Loved having you in the Emerald City for a few days, although it was entirely too short! Waiting with bated breath for your Flickr photos to appear….
Wahhh, i miss you Ji-in, looking forward to the report and the photos … good Korean food?
The Seattle mini-gathering kicked my ass — time zones, jet lag, redeye flights, old friends, new friends, morning sessions, late nights, taxis, boats, Space Needles, contortionists, long talks, dance floors, Absolut Mandarin, fun fun fun, ohhhhhhhh … methinks I need a nap.
Abstract and visual aids forthcoming!
Sarah Kim and Soon Young: Niiiiice lashes, ladies! It was so fun to meet you. Wish we had more time. And to you other blog lurkers I met: Come out, come out, wherever you are!
(Oh, and everybody, um, pinky swear you won’t be publicly publishing any … uhhhm … unflattering photos. OK? OK. Good to have that settled.)
